A Zone A · Inbound Dock

Every carton counted at the door, before it becomes a problem in the aisle.

Clients send an ASN, your dock team scans what actually arrives, and the difference is recorded with photos while the driver is still there. Received stock gets a putaway bin the moment it is counted.

How it runs on the floor

Inbound Dock, step by step.

  1. A1

    ASN arrives

The client uploads an ASN in their portal, sends it by API, or your team creates it from a purchase order or email.

  2. A2

    Door booked

The truck gets a door and a time slot. The dock board shows what is due, from which client, and how many cartons.

  3. A3

    Scan and count

Staff scan carton or item barcodes. Quantities fill in against the ASN, with batch, expiry and serial numbers captured where the SKU needs them.

  4. A4

    Record exceptions

Shorts, excess and damage are flagged on the handheld with photos and a reason code. The client is told before the truck leaves.

  5. A5

    Put away

Each pallet or carton gets a suggested bin based on client, SKU size, temperature and pick speed. A scan at the bin confirms it.

What is in this zone

Built for the way 3PL floors actually work.

ASN import

Upload ASNs as CSV, take them from the client portal, or receive them through the API. Line-level SKU, quantity, batch and expiry.

Blind or guided receiving

Show expected quantities to the receiver, or hide them for a blind count when you need an independent check.

Damage photos

Photos attach to the ASN line and travel with the stock record, so disputes with the client are settled with evidence.

Label what arrives unlabelled

Print SKU or licence plate labels at the dock for cartons that come in without readable barcodes.

Putaway rules per client

Keep a client in its own aisle, group by temperature, or let AI Slotting decide which pick face suits each SKU.

Dock scheduling

Doors, slots and expected arrivals across the day, so two large ASNs do not land on the same door at 9 am.

FLOOR NOTES
  • Goods received notes are generated per ASN and shared in the client portal automatically.
  • Cross-dock lines can skip putaway and go straight to a dispatch bay.
  • Returns are received on the same dock with their own reason codes and restock or quarantine rules.
Zone A questions

Asked at the inbound dock.

Q01What if a client sends stock without an ASN?

Receive it as an unplanned delivery. The client gets a notification to confirm the lines, and the stock stays in a hold location until they do.

Q02Can we receive pallets without scanning every unit?

Yes. Set receiving by pallet, carton or unit per SKU. Cartons with a known pack quantity can be counted with one scan.

Q03Do we need new scanners?

No. Any Android handheld with a browser works, and so do USB or Bluetooth scanners on a desktop at the dock.
